We wish to formally welcome you to our website. The site contains educative, informative and fascinating pictures of our activities here in Ghana.
It has been a challenging, exciting and successful years for Michael Lapsley Foundation. In our small way we have been able to support a number of special Schools in the country, which is a step in the right direction, however many more children and special schools are in urgent need of critical materials for their programs. Our Success in the field of humanitarian assistance has been recognized by all.
We will continue with our child welfare programme and community development and build on this work through stronger collaboration with our local and international partners.
I would like to thank my Board Members, project Team, donors and Sponsors, for their support, hard work and dedication.

Michael Lapsley Foundation, Ghana wishes to take this opportunity to pass our vote of thanks to all our volunteers who have given many hours of their time to a variety of projects for free. Without your hard work and dedication many of our projects would not have been able to have the full momentum they currently enjoy.
Since its inception the Foundation has always depended on volunteers to implement it's planned of programmes. We want to honor the contribution of each of them. We have been greatly blessed by the support of our partners whose names appear within the financial report. With rising costs our work has continued and even expanded because of not only our partners but also individual friends of the Foundation who have been extremely generous. We thank you. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our entire supporter, funders and well wishers whose help and support over the last years, who have provided us with the ability to continue to work on the number of projects being undertaken. Father Michael Lapsley
Michael Lapsley was born in Hastings, New Zealand on June 2nd 1949 at the very beginning of the apartheid era in South Africa. His parents were very devout Christians and baptized the fifth of their seven children, "Alan Michael." When Michael entered the society of the Sacred Mission (SSM) at the tender age of seventeen, he dropped the name "Alan" and took his second name as his religious name.
His first contact with South Africa happened some years before his entering the religious life when at the age of thirteen he read Travel Huddleston's "Naught for your comfort" which made an indelible impression on him.
Michael Lapsley is one of the prominent figures in South Africa who championed the cause to an end, to South Africa's Apartheid. He had his calling to the priesthood in the early 70's. Michael's pat for honesty, truth and dedication was capitalized with scorn, humiliation and bitter experience, but yet, glorious, Fr. Mike, as he is affectionately called has a humble beginning and inspires people through his sermons and counseling particularly during South Africa's iron rule of oppression.
